A quick look at the WapEduc m-learning solution
In a recent press release, the French-based company Sarl WapEduc has announced that they will lead an e-learning project in Senegal. According to Philippe Steger, who leads WapEduc, over 1′100 lessons and questionnaires will help 100 students from Dakar in their pursuit of a high school degree. I therefore took the liberty to check out their m-learning solution.
First off all, the system is free and teachers can upload their own content, which is truly great compared to many proprietary systems out there. As far as one can see on the demo, all of it is web-based and everyone can access the data. Great again. I was unable to find any content in English, besides the French/English lessons, which left me quite disappointed. As one can see on the screenshot, the system offers multiple choice quizzes and looks ok, but not great on my iPhone’s browser. The whole system seems to be laid out for smaller displays and when testing on my SonyEricsson old Opera browser it still looked good.
Altogether, this seems to be a solid solution for all French-speaking countries and regions. I would love to see more. But in English please.
