Securely dictating on a Blackberry

In the news I saw a new and interesting software which enables one to dictate onto a Blackberry and automatically  encrypts the contents. The contents can also be automatically uploaded to a web server. This could have some interesting applications for “secure” mobile learning. For instance lawyers who have to learn about a certain client, but who need to be sure that there are no outside parties who can intercept the data.

Unfortunately for non-German speakers, the software developers website is somewhat bilingual (German and English). The software ProDictate is available at around 145 Euros.

Cram on your Blackberry and iPhone

Today I am taking a quick look at SimpleLeap mobile learning software. The Atlanta-based SimpleLeap developers offer 2 mobile learning tools with “Cram 1.1″ and “Appetite 1.1″. Cram is a flashcard and quiz tool for Blackberrys, iPhones and iPod Touch. The user can create questions and multiple choice answers directly on their mobile or on most text editors on their regular PC.

“Appetite” is a recipe organizer, which also helps to keep track of groceries to buy. Currently it is only available for the Blackberry.

Both mobile learning tools cost $9.99 USD.
