Still (almost) no word on m-learning for the Palm Pre
The Palm Pre is still hyped almost as much as the iPhone. After doing a few hours of research on what mobile learning apps await us for this smart phone juggernaut, I have to admit that there seems to be almost no information on coming apps. The only thing of interest I found was a few comments which Palm CEO Ed Colligan made in January. He said that the medical app Epocrates is likely to be available at the Pre’s launch date. Epocrates is an infectious disease treatment guide and offers several hundreds tests which help people to diagnose or self-diagnose.

Since the Pre does have a real keyboard and will be supporting Flash I am probably not the only mobile learning enthusiast who is getting excited about the possibilities here. If one is to believe the hype, this device has the potential to become a much better mobile learning environment than the iPhone. Let us keep in mind that Palm is not as paranoid as Apple and will not lock down its device and anyone will be able to upload apps via USB or any website. Dear Palm Pre developers, please don’t mess this one up!
